This three day
workshop was designed to provide participants with an
overview of assessment, treatment planning and counseling
skills essential for the new counselor. The assessment
Interviewing portion of the workshop will help counselors
develop a focused, well-organized interview that plays an
integral part in the gathering of information needed to
formulate the goals the client needs in his/her treatment
plan. The counseling skills portion of the workshop will
address the fundamental elements of counseling which
include developing trust and rapport; understanding your
strengths and weaknesses as a counselor; the importance
of listening; non-verbal communications and being
sensitive and receptive to cultural variables, and how to
