Couples Weekend Retreats

"For one human being to love another is the most difficult task.
It's the work for which all other work is preparation." –Rilke

Experience a weekend (late Friday afternoon to Sunday) retreat designed specifically for you as a couple—unique in its ability to affect deep, meaningful and enduring change.

Committing to improving and enriching your relationship gives a powerful positive message to each other. Whether you want to understand each other better; want to explore new ways to save a troubled relationship, or adjust to a life change or crisis, time away with a skilled couples therapist can help you strengthen and renew your love.

Whether you need to relight a dying flame—rekindle emotional and sexual intimacy, repair a troubled and hurting relationship, or get past an accumulation of frustration, resentment, or anger, the weekend retreat will offer you a new perspective for looking at yourself and your partner.

I usually like to start by seeing both people together on Friday and then deciding how to proceed. There will be time to spend alone with me, and time to spend as a couple throughout the weekend. I will also give assignments for you to do either in your hotel or outside in one of the natural settings here in Wyeth country, and opportunities for personal reflection and quality time together.

Together, we will create a safe atmosphere where you will have the opportunity to:

• Learn new skills to talk openly and honestly (and feel safe) about what you need and your vision for a future together.
• Learn how to avoid the destructive, no-win arguments with a new strategy for mutual understanding.
• Learn how to resolve and release anger and conflict with new communication tools.
• Begin to learn from the past rather than let resentment grow from it.
• Renew your ability to see in each other lovingly in all situations.
• Renew your relationship by acting through love—realizing that loving another as they are brings unbounded joy.
• Learn to view relationship "problems" as opportunities for growth.
• Leave with a personalized plan for moving forward

Obviously, the true test comes once you leave on Sunday. Many times it can be a major challenge to continue using new skills and tools once you are back in the daily routines of your lives. The weekend experience will lay a new foundation from which to make more loving responses in your everyday lives. Support will be available through either return visits, phone calls or email.

Your relationship deserves this retreat. Many other couples have found the experience to be a wonderfully loving, productive, cost effective, and nourishing way to bring love and joy back into their hearts and their marriage/relationship.

Any couple in a committed romantic relationship is welcome.

My office in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania is surrounded by beautiful scenery away from the pressures of daily life. There are many Hotels and Bed and Breakfasts nearby to choose from.
