Team Building

A two-day retreat designed to create and foster a vital Team spirit. A vital team spirit exists when a team:

  • Participates in the creation of it's mission
  • Shares a common purpose
  • Shares common goals to achieve their purpose
  • Creates a team environment where members freely communicate with each
  • other and are receptive to feedback
  • Works through challenges and obstacles creatively
  • Exhibits respect and trust for each member
  • Envisions the creation and active pursuit of a Healthy Workplace

The schedule of the retreat will be designed to afford time to address each of the elements listed above. This will be accomplished in large and small group activities by:

  1. Defining each element (i.e., mission, feedback, respect)
  2. Asking participants to examine how the elements are currently operating
  3. What pieces are missing,
  4. What pieces need to be added, and
  5. Taking specific steps during the retreat to reach the desired state.

Specific needs of the group attending the retreat will be incorporated into the design and process of the retreat.

Depending upon group requirements, didactic presentations and small group activities can be designed which are devoted to:

  • Communication Skills
  • Examining what has kept the team from functioning effectively and designing steps to change
  • Examining what changes the members want to make in team functioning, member roles and expectations, team mission and purpose, and team goals.

A retreat design more specific to your group's needs will be created after meeting with key individuals.
